Talksport understands that Besiktas are eyeing a surprise move for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck.
The twenty-seven-year-old was in and out of the treatment room last season but still managed to rack up forty-three appearances in all competitions, scoring ten goals – form that has seen him selected by Gareth Southgate for England’s World Cup squad.
Besiktas are on the lookout for a new forward with Tulisca heading back to Benfica following a two-year loan spell and have identified Welbeck as one of their targets in the way of Unai Emery being unveiled as the new Arsenal manager.
The former Manchester United man moved to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2014 and has played one hundred and twelve times since, scoring twenty-seven goals.
He has more goals than any other member of the Three Lions’ twenty-three man selection for this summer’s tournament in Russia having netted fifteen in thirty-seven games.
