Turkish newspaper Fotomac has revealed that Besiktas are stepping up their efforts to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago Mendes.
The 32-year-old looks set to leave Vicente Calderon when his deal expires in the summer having not been offered a contract extension by the club.
Turkish daily Fotomac has suggested that Besiktas have offered the player a one-year deal with an option for one more season.
Tiago would be earning at least €600,000 per season, with another €400,000 depending on performance related bonuses.
The former Portugal international is ready to consider the offer, although he would prefer a two-year deal with an option for another year.
Tiago Mendes began his professional career at Sporting Braga and went on to play for Benfica, Chelsea, Lyon and Juventus before joining Atletico Madrid in the winter of 2011.
The midfielder has made a total of 94 La Liga appearances for los Colchoneros, scoring 8 goals in the process.
