The Mirror understands that Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are keen on signing Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott.
The England international has failed to hold down a first team place under Manuel Pellegrini following the form of Vincent Kompany and Matija Nastasic, and has revealed that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
West Ham United made an attempt to secure the services of the 31 year old back in January, though the defender will be able to command a more lucrative deal if he waits until he is a free agent.
Besiktas currently sit third in Turkey’s top tier, two points behind second place Galatasaray, who are managed by Lescott’s former boss Roberto Mancini.
Slaven Bilic’s side are a further six points behind leaders Fenerbache with thirteen games to play, leaving them at a price of 28/1 to win their first league title in five years.
