Besiktas failed to close the gap with leaders Trabzonspor, crashing to a 2-1 defeat at local rivals Fenerbahçe.

After Trabzonspor’s 1-1 draw with Kayserispor a day earlier, Besiktas had a good opportunity to move into joint first place.

But Fenerbahçe needed only 11 minutes for Sahin to open the score and although Nobre levelled ten minutes later, it was Spanish striker Daniel Guïza to restore the advantage in the 27th.

Besiktas’ Cissé was sent off with a second yellow card in the 41st minute.

Sivasspor beat Gaziantepspor 3-0 and now share the second place with Besiktas. Yildiz, Balili and Aydin scored.
