(GSM) – Besiktas squandered a chance to go level at the top of the Turkish Super Lig on Friday as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ankaragücü.
The Istanbul side came into the game three points back of leaders Bursaspor, and a win would have left them behind only on goal difference with the rest of the Round 28 fixtures yet to play.
Instead, Ankaragücü played with great intensity in defense to keep Mustafa Denizli’s men at bay for the entire game.
The draw does, however, extend the Besiktas unbeaten run to eight matches, although they could now fall five points back if Bursaspor beat Antalyaspor on Saturday.
Ankaragücü sit 12th, nine points clear of the drop zone.
