Besiktas are stepping up their efforts to sign Brazilian star Ronaldinho from Atletico Mineiro, reports Turkish daily Fanatik.

With the Brazilian’s current deal due to expire in less than a month, everything suggests the former Barcelona forward will be returning to Europe in January.

Turkish newspaper Fanatik reports that Besiktas have moved to pole position and they are already working hard on persuading the player’s representatives to accept an offer from Istanbul.

The Black Eagles are prepared to offer Ronaldinho a yearly wage of €3 million plus a bonus of €30,000 per every appearance.

The 33-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring 9 goals in 19 league appearances for the Brazilian giants, but he appears to be searching for a new challenge.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldinho can help his side at the Club World Cup in December, having torn his groin muscle back in September.
