The Daily Star understands that Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas are set to make a surprise move for Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie.
The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after hitting just twelve league goals last season – his third with the club.
Van Persie was the Premier League’s top scorer in both his final season with Arsenal, and the following year with United where he also won the Premier League title.
With club captain Wayne Rooney the main man under Louis van Gaal, the former Feyenord forward could be set for a new adventure and Besiktas are readying an audacious swoop.
The 31 year old also played under Van Gaal for his country and in total has forty-nine goals in ninety-eight appearances.
Having finished in fourth place last season, United can be backed at a price of 5/1 to win the title next May.
