Spanish Primera Division side Real Betis and its forward Jose Mari have agreed to terminate the player’s contract. This was announced on the club’s official website.
The striker joined the Sevillan side in the summer of 2007 and has been able to score only one goal in 21 league appearances. Reason for Betis to end their cooperation with the 30-year-old.
In the statement, Betis thanks Jose Mari for “his professional and personal behaviour, which has always been an example”.
“We are thankful for what he did during this time and wish him the best of luck in the future,” the club concludes.
Before joining Betis, Jose Mari represented arch rivals Sevilla, as well as Atletico de Madrid, AC Milan and Villarreal.
