According to Sky Sports, Marcus Bettinelli is close to securing a new contract with Fulham. The 26 year old keeper has improved tremendously in the last few years, playing a big part in the Cottagers’ promotion campaign last season. Bettinelli was recently called up to the England senior squad by Gareth Southgate, showcasing just how far he’s come in such a short space of time.
Bettinelli was benched for the first two games of the Premier League campaign, but now, he’s been able to establish himself as the club’s number one once more.
Fulham have struggled to get going in the Premier League this season but Bettinelli is still considered to be one of the team’s shining lights, and as we look ahead to his future, it’s smart of the club to tie him down to a deal like this given that there’s a good chance bigger clubs could come in for him one day.
