Goals have been at a premium for Aston Villa and Leicester this season in the Premier League, but both teams will target their clash as the ideal opportunity to rectify that.
Villa have yet to hit double figures in the Premier League this season, with their average a little over a goal every other game. However, Christian Benteke burst back from a three-match ban with the winning goal on Tuesday at Crystal Palace.
The Belgian ace had played only four games before his suspension having been out previously for six months with injury. However, those matches and Tuesday’s reappearance suggested he is back to the form that earned him 34 goals in 61 appearances.
With the Villa Park crowd giving them the encouragement they need, Lambert will hope his side can fire against the Foxes, whose optimism has faded following an encouraging start to the season.
