You can bank on Chelsea striker Diego Costa to score goals anywhere this season – and Newcastle could be his next victims.

The Spanish international has made his mark both home and away since Jose Mourinho splashed £32million of Roman Abramovich’s cash in the summer to lure him away from Atletico Madrid.

Costa’s finishing prowess made him an instant hit with the Stamford Bridge crowd, as he has been able to repeat the form which netted him 43 goals in 71 La Liga appearances.

The Brazil-born player was certainly quick off the mark for the Blues, scoring on his Premier League debut in the 3-1 win at Burnley and repeating the dose at home to Leicester.

He then netted twice in the 6-3 romp at Everton and completed his first Premier League hattrick as the Blues triumphed 4-2 over Swansea at the Bridge.

Costa’s goals are one of the main reasons Mourinho’s side have emerged as title favourites before the season is even halfway through.

The focus of Newcastle boss Alan Pardew might not be on the Premier League crown or even European qualification, but his side’s home form has kept them in the top half of the table.

At a club where the spotlight is often on owner Mike Ashley, the way Pardew has carried on with the business on the pitch has started to win him the grudging admiration of even the most sceptical of the Toon Army, who were irked by his appointment in 2010.

Without the resources available to the likes of Mourinho, the way Pardew has nurtured emerging talent has meant Newcastle fans can keep looking up the table rather than down.

Preventing Costa from scoring and taking at least a point from the game would do his reputation no harm at all.

Enhanced price therefore maximum stake of £25 per user.
