Tadic to be on target again

Dusan Tadic grabbed the headlines with the only goal of the game as Southampton won 1-0 at Manchester United last weekend to leapfrog their opponents into third place in the Premier League.

At 4/1 he seems a generous price to repeat that feat against a Newcastle side still under the stewardship of caretaker manager John Carver following the departure of Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace.

While Tadic has found the net on only three occasions this season in the Premier League, two of those goals have come in his last two league outings and he now appears to have found his scoring touch.

After opening his account in October in the 8-0 thrashing of Sunderland, he netted in the 2-0 home win against Arsenal on New Year’s Day before that winner at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old Serbia midfielder will be hoping to make life difficult for a Newcastle defence who have conceded 14 goals in 10 games at St James’ Park, including five in the last two home outings in a 3-2 victory over Everton and 3-3 draw with Burnley.

With defeats in their last two games – a 1-0 loss in the FA Cup at Leicester and a 2-0 reversal at leaders Chelsea last weekend – the Magpies are clearly suffering from a lack of leadership at the helm.

Carver is currently operating on a match-by-match basis following the surprise departure of Alan Pardew to a relegation battle with Crystal Palace.

Although the 49-year-old has stated he wants the managerial role on a permanent basis, owner Mike Ashley seems more likely to plump for a bigger name and this uncertainty appears to be affecting the Magpies, who have yet to win under Carver. Tadic – and his team-mates – will be eager to capitalise on that.

Enhanced price therefore maximum stake of £25 per user.
