Christian Eriksen has not quite delivered on what everyone expected when Tottenham signed him from Ajax in 2013 – but he is still ranked in the top 20 of the Premier League shots table and is well ahead of Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Danish international Eriksen, who notched 24 goals in 91 Eredivisie appearances for the Amsterdam club, has scored only 12 in 38 in the Premier League for Spurs.

However, he averages nearly three shots per game this season, whereas Sigurdsson’s ratio is below two, which sees him down in 62nd place.

One fact both Swansea and Spurs fans will be aware of is the supply route to goal provided by Sigurdsson.

During two spells at the Liberty Stadium and the one in between at White Hart Lane the Icelandic international has proved invaluable when it comes to loading the bullets for the strikers to fire.

Garry Monk has guided Swansea to eighth place in the current campaign and has only enhanced his reputation since taking over the reins at the Liberty Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino’s career was predicted to continue on an upward curve after the Argentinian swapped Southampton for Tottenham – but the move from St Mary’s to White Hart Lane has not gone as smoothly as he might have expected.

His command of the English language might have improved, but it has not been matched by results on the pitch.

If Eriksen finds the target against Swansea, it would at least give Pochettino something to smile about going into the busy festive programme.

Enhanced price therefore maximum stake of £25 per user.
