Tottenham’s Harry Kane is the form striker of the Premier League at the moment and Arsenal are about to find out why.

The England Under-21 international boosted his goal tally for the season to 20 – 10 of which have come in the league – with a brace in last weekend’s 3-0 romp at West Brom and in the process increased calls for him to be awarded a senior cap.

At the start of the season Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino mainly used the 21-year-old in his Europa League side, but he responded so well – scoring twice against AEL Limassol and grabbing a hat-trick against Asteras Tripoli – that the Argentinian was forced to consider him for the Premier League.

Since coming on as a second-half substitute and snatching a 90th minute winner in the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in November, Kane has not looked back.

Promoted to the starting line-up at Hull, he netted the first goal in Spurs’ 2-1 success and then produced probably the best performance of his career with a double in Tottenham’s 5-3 rout of leaders Chelsea last month.

Then came those two goals at the Hawthorns last weekend and Kane has since been rewarded with a new five-and-a-half year contract.

Pochettino is not one to allow fame to go to Kane’s head, though, and immediately after his double last weekend he challenged the striker to aim for 30 goals this season.

With in-form Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen providing the bullets for Kane to fire, that total seems well within his compass and the Arsenal defence – boosted by the signing of Brazilian Gabriel from Villarreal last week – will need to be on their guard to stop him.

They did not face the youngster in the clubs’ first league encounter this season in September – which ended in a 1-1 draw – so that is bound to work in his favour.

Enhanced price therefore maximum stake of £25 per user.
