Johannesburg PSL side Bidvest Wits went to the top of the ABSA PSL when they easily beat Maritzburg United 4-1 at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

Two goals in the opening six minutes from Ashraf Hendricks and Sifiso Myeni was too much for the visiting KwaZulu Natal and they were never able to make up the leeway.

They did pull one back in the fourteenth minute when Sipho Mngomezulu curled the ball around the wall with a superbly taken free kick.

Maritzburg United played with more attacking intent in the second half which left them exposed at the back. Further goals by Dale Studzinski and Richard Rantjie ended Maritzburg’s challenge.
