Chelsea will not let Billy Gilmour leave on transfer deadline day, according to The Athletic. Gilmour was not part of new Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s opening two games, and there has been speculation that he could be sent out on loan. However, it has been reported that the former Rangers midfielder will stay at Stamford Bridge.
Gilmour has made a handful of appearances for the Chelsea first team and has looked very impressive. However, the 19-year-old midfielder suffered a long-term injury, and that affected his development. Now that the teenager is fully fit and available, he will be determined to establish himself in the Blues’ team.
Chelsea are in the running for the Premier League top four and are also in the Champions League knockout rounds. Gilmour could get chances for the first team in the coming weeks and months, and when he does, he has to make the most of them.
