In what could be an enjoyable affair from Pittodrie on Tuesday night, Rangers will make the trip to Aberdeen.
Starting with the hosts, hit with late heartbreak on home soil over the weekend as they suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of defending champions Celtic, Aberdeen will be seeking an immediate response here. Although the Dons might have now lost three of their previous five Premiership matchups, they do sit in pole position to claim a European spot this season. However, although Jim Goodwin’s men might have continued to gain a reputation for their rugged displays at Pittodrie after winning six of their last seven home battles, the former St. Mirren boss will be worried by his side’s downbeat record against Tuesday’s guests. In fact, suffering a 4-1 drumming when they made the trip to Ibrox on October 29th for a top-flight showdown, Aberdeen have failed to win any of their last 12 straight meetings against the Scottish heavyweights – a run that stems all the way back to March 2019.
As for the visitors, while Rangers might not have been at their best last week, they did open Michael Beale’s tenure with an action-packed victory at Ibrox. Eventually claiming a 3-2 win against Hibernian, the former QPR boss will now be calling on his side to find some much-needed stability at the back. Suffering a real Champions League nightmare this season, the former Scottish champions have recorded just a single clean sheet from any of their previous eight competitive contests. Although Rangers might hold a stellar record against Tuesday’s opponents, they have also shown some extended issues on the road. Including a shock 2-1 loss against St. Johnstone on November 6th, Beale’s new squad have won just a pair of their previous eight matchups outside of Glasgow. It should be noted, with Tuesday’s opponents seeing three of their last four meetings finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
Bet: Both teams to score at Aberdeen vs Rangers 5/6 for Tuesday’s Scottish Premiership battle @ 888sport
