Competition: Spanish Segunda
Market: Over 1.5 goals
Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport
Two sides who have their sights set on clinching a play-off spot this season, Albacete will welcome Las Palmas to the Estadio Carlos Belmonte on Monday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Albacete might still find themselves sat in pole position to claim a top-six finish in 2023, Ruben Albes’ men are enduring a recent wobble. Although the one-time Lugo boss might have seen his side eventually claim a 1-1 draw away at Zaragoza last time out, the Whites have claimed just a single victory from any of their last six Segunda outings. With that run stemming all the way back to a 3-2 victory against Malaga on February 12th, Albacete are seeking some much-needed defensive resolve since opening the New Year. Last seen at the Estadio Carlos Belmonte getting hit with a lively 2-1 loss at the hands of Granada, Monday’s hosts have recorded just a single second-tier clean sheet since the end of January. It should also be noted, Albes’ side have seen five of their previous six home fixtures finish with over 1.5 goals.
As for the visitors, also last seen having to settle for their own 1-1 draw at home against Gijon, Las Palmas find themselves in a similar position to Monday’s opponents. While Garcia Pimienta’s men might be tipped as a runaway pick to claim a play-off spot this season, the former Barcelona coach has seen his squad fail to win any of their last four straight Segunda appearances. With that downbeat spell underlined by a shocking 4-1 drumming against Tenerife on March 18th, the Yellows will be desperate to claim a crucial boost here. However, recording just a single away victory since opening 2023, Las Palmas should also be worried by their most recent meeting against their play-off rivals. When Pimienta’s side welcomed Albacete to the Estadio Gran Canaria back on December 11th, Monday’s guests were hit with a lively 2-1 defeat.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Albacete vs Las Palmas 1/2 for Monday’s Segunda matchup @ 888sport
