Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: America MG win

Odds: 6/11 @ Pribet

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways late on Wednesday night, America MG will welcome Chapecoense to the Arena Independencia.

Starting with the hosts, while America MG might still have their sights set on securing an immediate Serie A return this season, the Rabbits have gained a recent reputation as a stalemate specialist. Last seen over the weekend playing out a 1-1 draw away at Novorizontino, they have now been forced to settle for a single point in five of their previous six second-tier appearances. Nevertheless, pencilled in as a standout contender to widen their advantage in the top-four chase, America MG will be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including a thumping 3-1 win when they welcomed Botafogo to the Arena Independencia on August 10th, Wednesday’s hosts have not suffered a single defeat in front of their own supporters throughout 2024. Likewise, landing a 3-0 victory when they last welcomed Chapecoense to town back in December 2021, the Rabbits will be seeking a repeat performance here.

As for the visitors, although Chapecoense might have eventually dragged themselves over the finishing line last season as they kept hold of their Serie B status, the Big Green face an almighty uphill battle this time around. Putting in a woeful performance over the weekend as they slumped to a 4-0 drumming at home against Guarani, Tcheco’s men are tipped as a leading relegation contender this year. Getting Wednesday’s showdown underway sat four points adrift of safety, the Santa Catarina-based outfit will be bracing themselves for a real challenge here. Getting August underway with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mirassol, the midweek guests have lost all of their previous four Serie B appearances by an aggregate score of 8-1. In fact, along with collecting just a single point from any of their last six second-tier battles, Chapecoense have also registered just a sole win since the middle of June.

Bet: America MG 6/11 to beat Chapecoense in Wednesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ Pribet
