Competition: Belgian Pro League

Market: Goal to be scored in both halves

Odds: 7/10 @ BetUS

In a showdown between two Pro League giants on Sunday evening, Anderlecht will welcome Club Brugge to Lotto Park.

Starting with the hosts, claiming a welcomed Belgium Cup boost earlier in the week as they booked their semi-final spot thanks to a 1-0 victory away at Beerschot, David Hubert’s side will be looking to collect a heavyweight scalp on Sunday evening. However, signing off 2024 with back-to-back defeats against Dender and Genk, the Purples have seen their title ambitions take a major dent. Hit with a 2-1 defeat when they last met their domestic rivals back in October, Anderlecht should be concerned by a nightmare recent record against Sunday’s guests. In fact, Hubert’s men have lost each of their previous three meetings against the defending champions by an aggregate score of 6-2. Pencilled in as a real underdog contender at Lotto Park, Anderlecht have also shown some extended defensive issues. Including a 3-2 loss against Dender last month, the Purples have failed to muster a single clean sheet in front of their own supporters since November 24th.

As for the visitors, getting their own respective Belgium Cup underway earlier in the week with a routine 3-0 romp at home against Leuven, Club Brugge are in the midst of a real flurry. Signing off 2024 with an action-packed 4-3 victory against Westerlo, Nicky Hayen’s men are dreaming of the chance to defend their Pro League crown this year. Last seen in Champions League action securing an eye-catching 2-1 victory against Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, Brugge are unbeaten in all of their previous 16 consecutive appearances across all competitions. With that purple patch stemming all the way back to a 3-1 defeat against AC Milan on October 22nd, Sunday’s guests will be excited by their free-scoring performances in the final third. In fact, Hayen’s side have recorded at least a pair of goals in all of their last eight matchups. However, it should be noted, Brugge have seen seven of their previous eight away fixtures finish with both teams finding the net.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at Anderlecht vs Club Brugge 7/10 for Sunday’s Pro League matchup @ BetUS
