Competition: MLS
Market: Inter Miami double chance
Odds: 4/7 @ Pribet
Looking to extend on their recent purple patch, Inter Milan will travel to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the early hours of Thursday when they meet Atalanta.
Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to losing ways last weekend as they marked their return from September’s international break with a downbeat 2-0 loss at the hands of Nashville, Atalanta find themselves at the heart of a real rut. Failing to punch a Leagues Cup knockout stage ticket last month, interim boss Rob Valentino has a real job on his hands at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Opening the midweek fixtures sat scrapping outside the play-off places, the Five Stripes have now lost four of their previous five appearances across all competitions. Likewise, it should also be noted, Atalanta have collected just a pair of victories from any of their last 11 consecutive matchups – a rut that stems all the way back to June 30th. Facing what should be another heavyweight showdown in the early hours of Thursday, they have also gained a reputation for their extended issues on home soil. In fact, Valentino’s temporary squad have lost all of their previous three appearances in front of their own supporters.
As for the visitors, while Inter Miami might have suffered Leagues Cup frustration last month, the Herons have only continued on a major MLS romp. Marking their return from September’s International break with a 3-1 victory at home against Philadelphia, Gerardo Martino’s men are leading the chase at the top of the Eastern Conference table and hold a commanding 10-point buffer over the chasing pack. Opening September with a 4-1 romp away at Chicago, the one-time Barcelona boss will be calling on his superstar squad to lay down another MLS marker in the early hours of Thursday. In fact, along with winning all of their previous five domestic showdowns by an aggregate score of 11-4, they have also collected 27 points from their last 10 MLS appearances. Continuing to shine with their free-scoring performances on the final third, it should also be noted that Inter Miami have suffered just a single domestic defeat on their travels since way back on March 23rd.
