Market: Lens draw no bet

Looking to sign off their history-making Ligue 1 campaign with another statement on Saturday night, Lens will travel to the Stade de I’Abbe-Deschamps when they meet Auxerre.

Starting with the hosts, missing out on the chance to automatically extend on their Ligue 1 status last weekend, Auxerre still have work to do on Saturday night. Holding just a two-point buffer over Nantes and slipping into the drop zone, the Burgundy-based outfit know that they’re at the heart of a two-horse race to avoid the drop. Last seen eventually having to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Toulouse, Christophe Pelissier’s men have struggled to find any kind of stability over the past six weeks. Including what could turn out to be a season-deciding 1-0 loss at the hands of Brest on May 14th, Auxerre have failed to win any of their last six Ligue 1 appearances – a run that stems back to April 16th. Facing what is a stern test when a high-flying Lens arrive at the Stade de I’Abbe-Deschamps on Saturday night, Pelissier’s side should be bracing themselves for a nervy night in Burgundy.

As for the visitors, while Lens might have missed out on the chance to snatch a maiden Ligue 1 crown in 2023, Franck Haise’s side are enjoying what has been a history-making campaign. Breezing their way to a famous Champions League spot and clinching a silver medal finish with time to spare, Le Racing are riding what has been a remarkable wave of momentum. Last seen putting in another dominant display as they picked up a 3-0 victory at home against AC Ajaccio, the Yellows have now won each of their last six straight domestic appearances by an aggregate score of 14-3. In fact, on a run that stems all the way back to a 1-1 draw against Lille on March 4th, it should be highlighted that Lens have won seven of their last eight contests across all competitions. Given the huge recent gulf in class between Saturday’s opponents, we are backing an away draw no bet this weekend.

Bet: Lens draw no bet against Auxerre 4/5 for Saturday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ BetUS
