Hoping to widen their buffer in the Copa Sudamericana chase in the early hours of Thursday, Internacional will make the trip to Bahia.

Starting with the hosts, eventually managing to make a stunning return to winning ways last week as they claimed a 6-4 win away at Goias, Bahia will be desperate to use that action-packed performance as a platform to build on. However, still firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap and opening up Thursday’s showdown holding just a single-point buffer over slipping into the drop zone, Rogerio Ceni’s side are desperately seeking some recent stability. Winning just a pair of their last six top-flight showdowns – a run that stems back to a 4-0 romp against Bragantino on August 20th – Bahia should also be concerned by their extended issues on home soil. Last seen at the Arena Fonte Nova getting hit with a worrying 2-1 loss at the hands of Santos, Ceni’s side have recorded just two wins from any of their previous seven showdowns in front of their own supporters. It is also worth highlighting, Bahia have seen three of their last four Serie A contests on home soil finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also managing to make their own crucial return to winning ways last week as they claimed a 3-2 victory against Gremio, Internacional have their sights firmly set on claiming a Copa Sudamericana spot this season. Drawing a line under their four-match winless run and failing to secure back-to-back Serie A wins since the end of June, Eduardo Coudet’s side are still trying to find their own top-flight stability. Opening the midweek fixtures holding just a one-point buffer from slipping out of the top-12, the former Celta Vigo boss will have an extended headache over his side’s continued issues at the back. Including a 2-1 loss at home against Fluminense earlier in the month, Coudet’s side are without a clean sheet from any of their previous seven showdowns. However, it is worth noting, with five of Internacional’s last six appearances across all formats finishing with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Both teams to score at Bahia vs Internacional 19/20 for Thursday’s Brazil Serie A battle @ BetUS
