Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 4/7 @ 888sport

In what could be a cagey affair from Brazil’s Serie B late on Friday night, Bahia will welcome Nautico to the Arena Fonte Nova.

Starting with the hosts, while Bahia might still find themselves battling it out at the top of the Serie B table, they are in the midst of a worrying rut. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss at the hands of runaway leaders Cruzeiro, some in Enderson Moreira’s camp might be starting to look over their shoulders. Despite holding a five-point buffer from dropping out of the promotion places, the Tricolor have won just one of their previous six second-tier showdowns. With their extended blip stemming all the way back to June 28th, Bahia have also shown some worrying issues in the final third. Along with drawing a blank on the road last weekend, it should also be highlighted that Friday’s hosts have failed to bag more than a single strike in 10 of their last 12 Serie B appearances.

As for the visitors, throwing away the lead last weekend as they were eventually hit with a 2-1 loss at home against Londrina, Nautico are enduring a hugely worrying run of form. Battling it out at the foot of the Serie B table and tipped as a standout pick in the relegation race this season, Roberto Fernandes’ side have lost each of their last four second-tier contests on the bounce. Sat three points adrift of safety, the Recife-based outfit have also won just one of their previous 10 appearances, a run that stems all the way back to June 4th. Likewise, collecting just a single point from their last four matchups away from the Estádio dos Aflitos, Nautico have also bagged just a single strike in those four consecutive away fixtures. With 10 of the last 12 meetings between Friday’s opponents finishing with under 2.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Bahia vs Nautico 4/7 for Friday’s Brazil Serie B showdown @ 888sport
