Competition: National League

Market: Barnet win

Odds: 21/20 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the National League table, Barnet will welcome Yeovil to north London on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, last seen over the weekend putting in another eye-catching display as they claimed a 2-0 victory away at Solihull Moors, Barnet are enjoying a real purple patch. While Dean Brennan’s men might have found themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap last season, the Bees now have a shock play-off spot at the top of their agenda in 2023. Opening up the midweek fixtures holding a four-point buffer from slipping out of the top-seven, the Londoners should find the mood in their camp at a continued high. Along with enjoying a six-match unbeaten run across all formats, it should also be noted that Barnet have suffered just a single defeat since way back on November 1st. Likewise, collecting 10 points from their previous four National League matchups on home soil, Brennan’s side are rightfully tipped as a standout pick.

As for the visitors, while Yeovil might have opened 2023 with a much-needed 2-0 victory against relegation scrappers Torquay, Mark Cooper’s men came crashing back down to earth last weekend. Eventually getting hit with a 4-1 drumming away at Bromley, the Somerset-based outfit will know that they face another stern test here. Mustering just a sole win from any of their last five matchups across all formats, the Glovers have also gained a reputation for their rather glaring struggles on the road. In fact, on what has been a remarkable spell, Tuesday’s guests are yet to pick up a sole victory away from Huish Park this season. Looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, it should also be highlighted that Cooper’s men suffered a 2-1 loss when they last faced off against Barnet back on August 16th.
