Competition: League Two

Market: Barrow draw no bet

Odds: 1/2 @ BetUS

Looking to make a welcomed return to winning ways on Thursday night, Barrow will welcome bitter local rivals Carlisle to Holker Street.

Starting with the hosts, completely blown away against Crewe last weekend as they fell to a 3-0 drumming, Barrow are desperately seeking some kind of stability. Nevertheless, securing consecutive League Two victories against Gillingham and MK Dons earlier in the month, Andy Whing’s men are looking to make up some ground in the top-half chase. Smelling what is a real opportunity to claim local bragging rights on Thursday night, the Bluebirds will certainly be excited to make a return to home soil here. Last seen at Holker Street clinching a 2-1 victory against MK Dons, the former Solihull Moors boss has seen his squad win three of their previous four showdowns in front of their own supporters. Signing off January with a thumping 3-0 victory against Grimsby, Barrow have suffered just a pair of League Two defeats on home soil since the middle of November.

As for the visitors, after losing their League One status last season, Carlisle find themselves at the heart of yet another crisis. Sat rock-bottom of the table and now facing a major uphill battle in the race to keep hold of their Football League status, Mark Hughes’ men are pencilled in as a leading relegation contender once again. Getting February underway with a woeful 5-1 drumming at home against Swindon, the former Southampton boss has seen his squad muster just two points from any of their previous six League Two appearances. In fact, putting just a single victory on the board since opening the New Year, Carlisle have shown some real issues at both ends of the pitch. It should be highlighted, Carlisle have drawn a blank in all of their last three consecutive outings and they have also notched just a single away goal in over 270 minutes of action.

Bet: Barrow draw no bet against Carlisle 1/2 for Thursday’s League Two battle @ BetUS
