Bitesize Prediction: Blackburn vs Norwich – 07/04/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Blackburn draw no bet

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Two play-off contenders who are seeking a much-needed boost on Friday afternoon, Blackburn will welcome Norwich to Ewood Park.

Starting with the hosts, marking their return from the international break with another downbeat display, Blackburn have certainly hit a worrying run of form at a crucial time. Eventually getting hit with a 1-0 loss away at Birmingham, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men have now lost three of their last four meetings against Championship opposition. However, still opening Friday’s fixtures sat in that final play-off spot, there is no doubt that the Rovers will be excited to make a return to Ewood Park this weekend. Last seen in Lancashire picking up a 2-1 victory against relegation scrappers Reading, Blackburn have won each of their last four straight showdowns on home soil by an aggregate score of 5-1. Likewise, remarkably not suffering a single defeat in front of their own supporters since opening 2023, Tomasson’s side will be desperate to claim an essential boost here.

As for the visitors, also marking their return from the international break with a 1-0 loss at home against Sheffield United, Norwich find themselves in an almost identical position to Friday’s hosts. Currently sat four points adrift of finding a route into the play-off places, David Wagner’s side are enduring a four-match Championship winless run. With their recent issues highlighted by a 1-0 defeat against Sunderland on March 12th, the one-time Huddersfield boss is calling on his side to find some much-needed stability. However, showing some extended struggles away from Carrow Road this season, the Canaries should also be worried by their most recent meeting against Blackburn. Suffering a 1-0 defeat when they welcomed the Rovers to Norfolk on January 8th, we are backing a home draw no bet on Friday afternoon.
