Bitesize Prediction: Blackburn vs Reading – 15/03/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Blackburn win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday night, Blackburn will welcome Reading to Ewood Park.

Starting with the hosts, despite eventually falling to an action-packed 3-2 defeat away at Stoke last weekend, Blackburn will be glad to make a return to Ewood Park here. Still opening the midweek fixtures sat in the play-off places and tipped as a leading contender to claim a top-six finish this season, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men will be looking to make another Championship statement on Wednesday night. Although the Rovers might have seen their five-match winning run come to an abrupt end last time out, they have continued to shine at Ewood Park. Last seen in front of their own supporters claiming an eye-catching 1-0 win against promotion contenders Sheffield United, it should be highlighted that Blackburn have won each of their previous three contests on home soil.

As for the visitors, putting in another toothless display last weekend as they were hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Millwall, Reading are in the midst of another extended struggle. Despite claiming a much-needed 3-1 victory against Blackpool last month, it appears that was just a minor boost for the Royals. Opening March with a woeful display away at Middlesbrough as they were hit with a 5-0 drumming, the one-time Wolves boss has seen his downbeat squad lose four of their last five Championship battles. Showing some extended issues in the final third, Wednesday’s guests should be bracing themselves for a tough trip to Ewood Park. It should be highlighted, suffering a routine 2-0 loss when they last made the trip to Blackburn back in October 2021, a similar outcome can be found at appealing odds in midweek.
