Competition: League One

Market: Blackpool win

Odds: 4/6 @ Pribet

Looking to extend on their Bloomfield Romp this weekend, Blackpool will welcome Shrewsbury to town on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, extending on their EFL Trophy romp earlier in the week as they secured a 2-1 win at home against Morecambe, the Seasiders should be smelling a golden chance here. Mustering nine points from their three Group 1 appearances, Neil Critchley’s side also have their sights firmly set on securing an immediate Championship return this season. Opening Saturday’s showdown sat just three points adrift of breaking into the play-off places, the former QPR boss will be hugely excited by his side’s continued success on home soil. Including a stellar 3-0 romp when they welcomed Stevenage to Bloomfield Road last month, Blackpool have won four of their previous five showdowns in front of their own supporters. Likewise, suffering just a pair of defeats from any of their last 10 straight contests across all formats – a run that stems back to October 3rd – the Oranges are rightfully tipped as a standout contender here.

As for the visitors, putting in another action-packed performance while on EFL Trophy duties earlier in the week as they landed a 3-2 win against Walsall, Shrewsbury are enjoying their own recent flurry. However, despite winning three of their previous four appearances across all competitions, Matt Taylor’s side are still battling it out in the bottom-half of the League One table. Almost sat in third-tier limbo, the Shropshire-based outfit have shown some extended inconsistencies on the road. Last seen on their travels slumping to a routine 2-0 loss at the hands of Wigan, Shrewsbury have collected just a single point from any of their previous seven straight showdowns away from New Meadow. With that away struggle stemming all the way back to August 26th, Taylor’s men should face a tricky test here. Likewise, bagging just one goal on that seven-match winless run on the road, we are expecting a home victory on Saturday afternoon.

Bet: Blackpool 4/6 to beat Shrewsbury in Saturday’s League One battle @ Pribet
