Competition: Copa Libertadores

Market: Bolivar win

Odds: 4/5 @ BetUS

Looking to claim what could be a crucial first-leg advantage late on Tuesday night, Bolivar will welcome Brazilian outfit Internacional to the Estadio Hernando Siles.

Starting with the hosts, extending on their Copa Libertadores adventure earlier in the month as they claimed a famous penalties victory away at another Brazilian outfit in the form of Athletico-PR, Bolivar will be looking to make another statement here. Feeling like they can snatch a crucial first-leg advantage on home soil, La Academia certainly picked up some real momentum over the weekend. Putting in a rampant display at the Estadio Hernando Siles as they stormed their way to a 3-0 victory against Libertad, the reigning Bolivian champions have now claimed back-to-back domestic wins by an aggregate score of 5-0. Gaining a fearsome reputation for their continued success on home soil, it should also be noted that Benat San Jose’s high-flying squad have won each of their last 11 straight contests in front of their own supporters – a run that stems all the way back to May 9th. Notching 35 strikes on that 11-match winning run, Bolivar should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, although Internacional might have gained a string of plaudits as they claimed a silver medal finish among Brazil’s elite last season, the Reds have come under a huge amount of scrutiny this time around. Firmly looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, Eduardo Coudet’s side will be more than aware that they face a stern challenge late on Tuesday night. Failing to pick up any momentum over the weekend as they slumped to a shock 1-0 loss at home against Fortaleza, the Porto Aledgre-based outfit have remarkably claimed just a single win from any of their previous 10 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to June 28th. Showing some glaring defensive issues, it should also be noted that Internacional have also mustered just one point from their last four showdowns on the road. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class between Tuesday’s opponents, we are backing a home first-leg victory here.

Bet: Bolivar 4/5 to beat Internacional in Tuesday’s Copa Libertadores showdown @ BetUS
