Bitesize Prediction: Bournemouth vs Brentford – 11/05/24

Competition: Premier League

Market: Bournemouth win

Odds: 1/1 @ BetUS

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, Bournemouth will welcome Brentford to the Vitality.

Starting with the hosts, eventually falling to a 3-0 loss away at title contenders Arsenal last weekend, Bournemouth will be seeking an immediate response here. While the Cherries might have opened up the 2023/24 campaign in the midst of a public struggle, Andoni Iraola’s men have come roaring back in an eye-catching fashion. Continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across the Premier League this season, they are still sat in pole position to claim a top-half finish over the next fortnight. Signing off April with a thumping performance as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp against Brighton, the former Rayo Vallecano boss has also seen his squad gain a reputation for their continued success on home soil. Including an action-packed 4-3 victory against Luton prior to March’s international break, Bournemouth have collected 13 points from their last five Premier League appearances at the Vitality. Likewise, it should also be noted, Iraola’s side have suffered just a single top-flight defeat in front of their own supporters since back on January 21st.

As for the visitors, although Brentford might have dragged themselves over the finish line as they clung to their Premier League status, the Bees have struggled to find any kind of stability this season. Last seen putting in a toothless display as they had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate at home against west London rivals Fulham, Thomas Frank’s men have collected just a pair of victories from any of their previous 13 consecutive top-flight appearances. Drawing back-to-back blanks for the first time since the end of November, Saturday’s guests have also registered just four points from any of their last seven showdowns away from the Gtech Community Stadium. Facing what should be a stern challenge when they travel to Bournemouth this weekend, Frank’s inconsistent squad should also be concerned by a downbeat record on the South Coast. In fact, the Bees have collected just a single win from any of their previous seven trips to the Vitality.
