Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Brest win

Odds: 4/5 @ Pribet

Looking to extend on their recent flurry, Brest will welcome Le Havre to the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, cementing their spot as one of Europe’s ultimate surprise packages last season as they clinched a bronze medal finish among France’s elite, Brest certainly sprung an almighty upset. While the Pirates might have struggled to find any real stability after opening up the new campaign back in August, they have turned a real corner over the past fortnight. Getting their iconic Champions League adventure underway on September 19th with a 2-1 victory at home against Strum Graz, Eric Roy’s men put in what was a famous performance earlier in the week. Making real history as they claimed a sensational 4-0 romp away at Austrian giants Salzburg, Brest will be looking for a repeat display here. Likewise, now registering nine points from their previous four appearances across all competitions, Sunday’s hosts should be smelling a golden opportunity when they return to the Stade Francis-Le Ble this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Le Havre might have entered September’s international break with back-to-back Ligue 1 victories, the Dean Club have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Putting in a nightmare performance last weekend as they fell to a routine 3-0 drumming at home against Lille, Didier Digard’s side are firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone. Marking their return from September’s fortnight interval with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Toulouse, the Normandy-based outfit have lost each of their previous three Ligue 1 appearances by an aggregate score of 8-1. With their recent issues underlined by a 3-1 loss away at Monaco last month, Le Havre should also be concerned by a downbeat record against Sunday’s hosts. Losing their two top-flight battles last season, they also fell to a 1-0 loss when they travelled to the Stade Francis-Le Ble back on March 3rd.

Bet: Brest 4/5 to beat Le Havre in Sunday’s Ligue 1 showdown @ Pribet
