Competition: Coupe de France

Market: Lens win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Two sides who will be looking to extend on their Coupe de France adventure on Sunday night, Lens will make the trip to a struggling Brest.

Starting with the hosts, while Brest might have now managed to secure back-to-back Ligue 1 stalemates, Eric Roy’s men find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap. Although the Pirates might have impressed many across France last season as they came within touching distance of clinching a top-half finish, they have certainly come crashing back down to earth this time around. Currently sat in the drop zone, the one-time Nice boss has seen his side win just a pair of their previous 16 straight Ligue 1 matchups. With that extended rut stemming all the way back to August 21st, Brest will know that they face another tricky test this weekend. It should also be noted, when Roy’s side last met Sunday’s guests on the opening weekend, they were eventually hit with an action-packed 3-2 loss on the road.

As for the visitors, last seen putting in another professional display as they picked up a 1-0 victory at home against Auxerre, Lens are in the midst of what has become a famous campaign. Remarkably sat just three points adrift of league leaders PSG and with their sights set on causing an almighty upset in 2023, Franck Haise’s men will find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. In fact, opening the New Year with a famous display at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis as they claimed a 3-1 romp against the defending Ligue 1 champions, Lens have suffered just a single domestic defeat across all formats this season. Riding what has been a famous wave of momentum, Sunday’s guests will simply be looking to keep up that charge here. Claiming that 3-2 win when they last faced off against Brest back in August, we’re backing a similar away victory.

Bet: Lens 19/20 to beat Brest in Sunday’s Coupe de France showdown @ 888sport
