Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Brest draw no bet

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

In what is a real relegation six-pointer at the foot of the Ligue 1 table, Brest will welcome Nantes to the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Brest might have been disappointed after only playing out a 0-0 stalemate away at fellow relegation scrappers AC Ajaccio on April 23rd, the Pirates have certainly breathed life back into their charge for Ligue 1 safety. Appearing to have turned somewhat of a corner on either side of March’s international break, Eric Roy’s side will be more than aware that they face a season-defining showdown on Wednesday night. Shocking almost everyone across France earlier in the month as they claimed a stellar 1-0 win at home against Nice, the Reds are unbeaten in each of their last five domestic appearances. With their recent improvements highlighted by a 3-1 romp against a high-flying Toulouse on April 2nd, it should also be noted that Brest have bagged back-to-back Ligue 1 victories at the Stade Francis-Le Ble. Finding some much-needed defensive resolve over the past few weeks, Roy’s men should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, putting in a nightmare display in this season’s Coupe de France final over the weekend, Nantes could show some signs of a major hangover on Wednesday night. Eventually getting hit with an infamous 5-1 drumming at the hands of Toulouse and coming under a huge amount of scrutiny, the Canaries have shown a string of Ligue 1 issues this year. While Antoine Kombouare’s men might have claimed a crucial 1-0 victory at home against Lyon earlier in the month, that looks like it was nothing more than a minor boost for Nantes. Claiming just a single win from any of their last nine straight domestic appearances, Kombouare’s side now have their sole attention focused on painting their Ligue 1 status. Likewise, collecting just one point from any of their last four top-flight contests away from the Stade de la Beaujoire, we are backing a home draw no bet here.

Bet: Brest draw no bet against Nantes 4/6 for Wednesday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ 888sport
