Bitesize Prediction: Brighton vs West Ham – 26/08/23

Competition: Premier League

Market: Brighton win

Odds: 3/5 @ BetUS

Looking to make another Premier League statement on Saturday evening, Brighton will welcome West Ham to the Amex this weekend.

Starting with the hosts, only continuing on what has been a remarkable wave since they welcomed Roberto De Zerbi to the Amex last year, Brighton are enjoying yet another Premier League romp. Opening the 2023/24 campaign with a thumping 4-1 victory against top-flight returners Luton, the one-time Sassuolo boss saw his side make another top-flight statement last weekend. Putting in a rampant display away at Wolves as they claimed another 4-1 victory, the Seagulls open this weekend’s fixtures leading the chase at the top of the Premier League table. Enjoying a real free-scoring flurry in the final third, Brighton are also one of just three Premier League clubs that can boast a 100% start. Only continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across England and also booking a famous Europa League group stage ticket last season, there is no doubt that De Zerbi’s high-flying squad will be confident of laying down another marker on Saturday evening. It should also be noted, Brighton have lost just a single top-flight contest at the Amex since back on February 18th.

As for the visitors, while West Ham might have made real history last season as they were crowned Europa Conference League champions, it is fair to say that David Moyes’ men endured a public domestic struggle. At the heart of a shock relegation scrap and only just about limping their way over the finish line, the Hammers appear to have made some improvements this time around. Last seen putting in a stellar display on home soil as they landed a 3-1 romp against London rivals Chelsea, the one-time Manchester United boss will be desperate for his side to spring an upset here. However, hit with a 4-0 drumming when they travelled to the Amex back on March 4th, West Ham will be worried by a nightmare record against Saturday’s hosts. In fact, along with losing each of their last three meetings by an aggregate score of 9-0, Moyes’ men have also failed to muster a single win from their last 12 straight meetings.
