Competition: A-League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/7 @ 1xBet

Knowing the importance of making up some ground in the play-off chase, Western Sydney will travel to Brisbane on Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, dragging themselves to what was an astonishing 4-3 victory away at Sydney last week, Brisbane will be desperate to use that remarkable result as a platform to build on. However, while the Lions might have finally out a maiden A-League victory on the board at the 13th attempt, Ruben Zadkovich’s men sit rock-bottom of the table. Remarkably collecting just five points so far this season, the former Perth boss will have a real headache over his side’s extended defensive struggles. Getting the New Year underway with a 3-1 defeat at home against Central Coast, Brisbane have yet to record a single A-League clean sheet since opening up the 2024/25 campaign. It should also be highlighted, continuing on from last season, the Lions have lost all of their previous nine straight showdowns at the Suncorp Stadium – a rut that stems back to a 3-2 win against Melbourne Victory in March 2024.

As for the visitors, while Western Sydney might have signed off 2024 in the midst of a real flurry, the Wanderers have failed to find any kind of stability over the past month. Suffering consecutive A-League defeats and tumbling their way out of the play-off spots, Alen Stajcic’s side have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous five appearances. Getting the New Year underway with a frantic 3-2 loss at home against Macarthur, have the feel of a squad seeking a much-welcomed boost. However, despite settling for a 2-2 stalemate when they welcomed Brisbane to the CommBank Stadium on December 14th, Western Sydney have continued to shine with their performances on the road. Last seen on their travels claiming a 2-1 win against Perth, Stajcic’s camp have registered 10 points from their previous four A-League matchups outside of Sydney. Likewise, with the Wanderers seeing five of their first six away fixtures finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome.

Bet: Both teams to score at Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers 4/7 for Friday’s A-League battle @ 1xBet
