Bitesize Prediction: Bristol City vs Preston – 12/10/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Preston double chance

Odds: 3/5 @ 888sport

Looking to spring another upset on their travels in midweek, Preston will make the trip to a struggling Bristol City on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Bristol City might have opened the 2022/23 campaign enjoying a real early-season purple patch, the Robins have really come crashing back down to earth. Heading into September’s international break with back-to-back 3-2 and 2-1 losses against Norwich and Burnley, it once again looks like their is real pressure on Nigel Pearson’s position. Last seen over the weekend putting in a woeful display as they were blown away thanks to a 3-0 drumming away at Birmingham, the one-time Watford boss has seen his side freefall their way down the Championship table. With many around Ashton Gate once again looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Bristol City have collected just a single point from any of their last five second-tier showdowns. Shipping 10 goals on that extended rut, Pearson’s men could face another tricky test here.

As for the visitors, while Preston might have made the trip to Carrow Road over the weekend tipped as a landslide underdog, the Whites put in a stellar display on the road. Eventually picking up a 3-2 victory against Norwich and picking up a major scalp away from Deepdale, there is no doubt that Ryan Lowe’s side will be looking to keep up their recent momentum here. Likewise, shocking West Brom earlier in the month as they snatched a 1-0 win on home soil, the Lancashire-based outfit should be smelling the chance to spring another upset on Wednesday night. In fact, aside from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of promotion contenders Sheffield United on September 17th, that is the only defeat that Preston have suffered from their last five outings. Playing out a 0-0 draw in their last trip to Ashton Gate, we’re backing an away double chance here.

Bet: Preston double chance against Bristol City 3/5 for Wednesday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
