Competition: National League

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ Pribet

Hoping to make it back-to-back National League victories on Monday afternoon, Southend will travel the Hayes Lanes when they meet a struggling Bromley.

Starting with the hosts, suffering heartbreak last season as they eventually missed out on punching a play-off ticket by just a one-point deficit, Bromley firmly had their sights set on claiming a top-six spot this time around. However, while Andy Woodman’s side might have been last seen on Friday night playing out an action-packed 2-2 draw away at Rochdale, that stalemate does not cover what has been a worrying start to the 2023/24 campaign. Opening proceedings with a routine 2-0 loss away at Halifax on August 5th, the Ravens are yet to pick up a single win from any of their opening five National League showdowns. Likewise, with just one clean sheet to their name so far, Woodman will have a growing headache over his side’s recent defensive issues. Already shipping seven fifth-tier goals this season, it should also be noted that four of their first five National League contests finish with over 1.5 strikes.

As for the visitors, while Southend might have shown some inconsistencies since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, the Blues were last seen putting in a rugged performance on Friday night. Eventually landing a deserved 2-0 victory at home against Eastleigh, the Essex-based outfit will be desperate to make another National League statement here. Still dealing with some rather public financial issues behind the scenes at Roots Hall, Kevin Maher’s men will now be hoping to find some much-needed stability on the road. In fact, including a 2-1 loss at the hands of Dorking earlier in the month, Southend have won just a trio of their last 10 National League appearances continuing on from last season – a run that stems all the way back to February 25th. It should be highlighted, with the Blues seeing each of their opening five National League matchups finish with over 1.5 goals, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Bromley vs Southend 4/11 for Monday’s National League battle @ Pribet
