Bitesize Prediction: Burnley vs Huddersfield – 25/02/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Burnley win

Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport

Simply looking to make a return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, Burnley will welcome Huddersfield to Turf Moor.

Starting with the hosts, while Burnley might have been disappointed after settling for a 1-1 draw away at Millwall earlier in the week, Vincent Kompany’s side are in the midst of a remarkable Championship flurry. Only continuing on a stellar rise since appointing the one-time Manchester City skipper, the Clarets are breezing their way towards an immediate Premier League return in 2023. Quickly gaining a string of plaudits from across England’s second-tier, Burnley hold a commanding 12-point buffer at the top of the table. Opening February with a 3-0 romp away at Norwich, Kompany’s high-flying squad have not suffered a single defeat across all formats since way back on December 12th. Yet to taste defeat at Turf Moor so far this season, the Clarets are rightfully tipped as a standout pick this weekend.

As for the visitors, while Huddersfield might have made a crucial return to winning ways last weekend, the Terriers will know that they face a huge task on Saturday afternoon. Despite edging past Birmingham thanks to a 2-1 victory, that is the only Championship win that Neil Warnock’s new squad have claimed from their previous nine attempts. Although they might have made the decision to appoint the veteran boss earlier in the month, the 74-year-old faces a real uphill struggle in 2023. Still sat in the relegation zone and making the trip to Turf Moor sat four points adrift of safety, Huddersfield have continued to show a string of issues on the road this season. Last seen on their travels getting hit with a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Stoke, it is hard to see anything other than a home win on Saturday afternoon.
