Bitesize Prediction: Cardiff vs Norwich – 11/11/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Cardiff win

Odds: 1/1 @ BetUS

Hoping to break their way into the play-off places on Saturday afternoon, Cardiff will welcome Norwich to south Wales.

Starting with the hosts, while Cardiff might have only just about clung to their Championship status last season, the Bluebirds are in the midst of a remarkable flurry this time around. Although Erol Bulut’s side might have been forced to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Stoke, the one-time Fenerbahce boss should find the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the play-off places, Cardiff have collected seven points from their previous three Championship contests. Signing off October with a routine 2-0 victory against Bristol City, Bulut’s side will also be excited to make a return to home soil here. In fact, on a purple patch that stems all the way back to August 12th, it should be highlighted that the Bluebirds have registered an astonishing 16 points from their last six showdowns in south Wales.

As for the visitors, although Norwich might have opened up the 2023/24 campaign tipped as a genuine play-off contender, David Wagner’s side are in the midst of a public Championship nightmare. Last seen putting in another worrying performance as they slumped to a 3-1 drumming at home against Blackburn, the ex-Huddersfield boss certainly finds some mounting pressure on his shoulders. Losing each of their previous four showdowns against second-tier opposition, Norwich have also gained a reputation for their extended struggles at the back. Along with signing off October with another 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sunderland, Wagner’s men have shipped 11 strikes on their four-match losing rut. Free-falling down the Championship standings, it is worth highlighting that the Yellows have won just one of their previous 10 straight appearances. Hit with a 1-0 loss when they travelled to south Wales last season, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
