Market: Cincinnati win

Odds: 7/10 @ BetUS

Looking to extend their stay at the top of the Eastern Conference table this weekend, Cincinnati will welcome Charlotte to the TQL Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, laying down another sensational marker last weekend as they stormed their way to a 6-1 romp against Inter Miami, Cincinnati are in the midst of another major MLS purple patch this season. Once again leading the chase at the top of the Eastern Conference table, Pat Noonan’s men find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Opening July with an action-packed 3-2 victory away at DC United, the Garys have rightfully received a string of plaudits since opening up the 2024 campaign. In fact, along with winning all of their previous three MLS showdowns by an aggregate score of 10-3, the former LA Galaxy coach has seen his squad remarkably win 12 of their last 14 appearances. With that remarkable flurry stemming all the way back to April 14th, Cincinnati have also continued to shine with their dominant displays in the final third. It should be highlighted, Sunday’s hosts have registered 42 MLS strikes so far this season.

As for the visitors, suffering late heartbreak at home against Inter Miami last weekend as they eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte are certainly seeking a recent boost. Despite still being sat in the driving seat to punch a play-off ticket this season, Dean Smith’s men have recorded just a sole victory from any of their previous four MLS appearances. Likewise, last seen on their travels falling to a toothless 1-0 loss at the hands of Houston, the former Aston Villa boss should have another real challenge on his hands here. Only collecting back-to-back MLS victories on a single occasion over the past two months, the Crown will also be worried by a nightmare record the TQL Stadium. Including a 3-0 drumming when they travelled to Cincinnati last season, they have lost both of their two historic trips to the reigning Eastern Conference champions by an aggregate score of 5-0.
