Two sides meeting for the second time in the space of a week, Cincinnati will welcome Toronto to the TQL Stadium in the early hours of Thursday.
Starting with the hosts, managing to pick up a much-needed victory when they made the trip to Toronto last weekend, there is no doubt that Cincinnati will be desperate to build off of that display. Eventually hanging onto a 2-1 victory away at Thursday’s guests, Head Coach Pat Noonan has still seen his side gain a reputation for their inconsistencies so far this season. Mustering just 10 points from their opening nine MLS contests, the Orange and Blue have won just one of their previous five top-flight outings. Likewise, last seen on home soil getting hit with a 2-1 loss at home against Los Angeles, it should be noted that Cincinnati have continued to struggle at the TQL Stadium. Remarkably, Noonan’s men have recorded just a single MLS victory in front of their own supporters from their previous 12 attempts, a run that stems back to September 11th.
As for the visitors, while Toronto might have enjoyed an eye-catching start to April, Bob Bradley’s men do appear to have come crashing back down to earth. Last seen over the weekend getting hit with that 2-1 loss at home against Cincinnati, the one-time Swansea boss has seen his side win just one of their last four MLS matchups. Suffering a stunning 5-4 defeat away at New York City on April 24th, the Reds have also continued to show a string of issues on the road. Still sat outside the Final Series spots, it should be noted that Toronto have failed to win any of their last 14 straight contests away from BMO Field continuing on from last season. In a showdown that could see chances at both ends of the pitch, we’re backing an enjoyable affair here.
