Market: Columbus Crew win

Odds: 1/2 @ 1xBet

Looking to extend on their recent purple patch in the early hours of Sunday, Columbus will welcome a struggling Toronto to Ohio.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another rugged performance earlier in the week as they secured a 2-0 victory at home against Nashville, Columbus are in the midst of a real purple patch. Signing off June with a major statement as they stormed their way to a 5-1 romp away at New England, the mood in Wilfried Nancy’s camp should be at a red-hot high. Including a 4-0 victory against Sporting KC last month, the Crew have won all of their previous three MLS appearances by an aggregate score of 11-1. Gaining a reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third, Columbus have also remarkably collected 21 points from their previous eight top-flight showdowns. Battling it out at the top of the Eastern Conference standings and cruising their way to another play-off ticket, the former Montreal boss will be smelling a golden opportunity here. It should also be highlighted, Sunday’s hosts have suffered just a single MLS defeat in Ohio so far this season.

As for the visitors, while Columbus might be riding a major wave of momentum, Toronto find themselves at the heart of a public MLS crisis. Last seen earlier in the week suffering a collapse on home soil as they eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Orlando, the Reds have come under plenty of recent scrutiny. Signing off June with last-gasp heartbreak away at Atlanta as they slumped to another 2-1 loss, Jason Hernandez has some mounting pressure on his shoulders at BMO Field. In fact, on a rut that is highlighted by a routine 3-0 drumming against New York Red Bulls on June 23rd, Toronto have lost all of their previous six MLS appearances on the bounce. Losing those five consecutive outings by an aggregate score of 13-4, Sunday’s guests have also collected just a pair of points from any of their previous eight top-flight appearances. It should also be noted, suffering a 2-0 defeat when they last travelled to Ohio, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Columbus Crew 1/2 to beat Toronto FC in Sunday’s MLS showdown @ 1xBet
