Bitesize Prediction: Copenhagen vs Hearts – 12/12/24

Competition: Europa Conference League

Market: Copenhagen win

Odds: 2/5 @ Pribet

In what is a real must-win Europa Conference League showdown on Thursday evening, Copenhagen will welcome Hearts to the Parken Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while Copenhagen might have got their Europa Conference League adventure underway with a shock 2-1 loss against Jagiellonia on October 3rd, the Danish giants have come roaring back in an eye-catching fashion. Getting December underway with a routine 3-1 victory against Nordsjaelland, Jacob Nesstrup’s side are riding a recent wave of momentum. Last seen in European action claiming a 2-1 win against Dinamo Minsk, the former Viborg boss has seen his squad win each of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Currently leading the chase at the top of the Superliga standings and with their sights set on claiming a history-making 16th domestic crown, Copenhagen are unbeaten in all of their last 12 straight outings – a run that stems back to the start of October. Pencilled in as a standout contender on Thursday evening, Nesstrup’s men will also be excited by their performances on home soil. Including back-to-back victories at the Parken Stadium, the Lions have suffered just a sole defeat in front of their own supporters since the middle of May.

As for the visitors, although Hearts might have made real history last season as they claimed a bronze medal finish among Scotland’s elite, the Jambos have come crashing back down in a remarkable fashion. Battling it out at the foot of the Premiership standings and suddenly at the heart of a relegation scrap, Neil Critchley appears to have a real job on his hands at Tynecastle. Last seen in Europa Conference League action slumping to a 2-0 defeat against Cercle Brugge, Thursday’s guests have come under some real scrutiny. Marking their return from November’s International break with a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Celtic, Hearts have collected just a single victory from any of their previous seven appearances across all competitions. Likewise, including a 1-0 loss against Rangers last month, the former Blackpool boss will have a real headache over his side’s continued issues outside of Edinburgh. In fact, the Jambos have recorded just a pair of wins away from Tynecastle since the start of April.
