Competition: Brazil Serie B

Market: Coritiba win

Odds: 1/2 @ Pribet

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways late on Friday night, Coritiba will welcome Ituano to the Couto Pereira.

Starting with the hosts, while Coritiba might have been frustrated last week as they eventually suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Ceara, the Glorioso should be smelling the chance to claim an immediate response here. Still dreaming of the chance to book an immediate Serie A return, interim boss James Freitas will be excited to make a return to the Couto Pereira this weekend. Last seen on home soil putting in a thumping performance as they breezed their way to a routine 3-0 victory against Operario, the Parana-based outfit have collected nine points from their first four Serie B showdowns in front of their own supporters. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Coritiba have conceded just a single strike on home soil since opening up the 2024 campaign. Desperate to make up some ground in the promotion chase, the Glorioso are rightfully pencilled in as a standout contender here.

As for the visitors, although Ituano might have eventually dragged themselves over the finishing line last season as they kept hold of their Serie B status, Alberto Valentim’s men appear destined for another relegation scrap this time around. Making an immediate return to losing ways last week as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home against Avai, the Roosters have continued to show a string of issues since opening up the 2024 campaign. Already scrapping it out in the drop zone, Friday’s guests have lost six of their first eight second-tier appearances and they certainly have another tough challenge on their hands this weekend. Likewise, last seen on their travels getting hit with a routine 2-0 loss against Mirassol, Ituano have lost all of their previous five away fixtures across all competitions by an aggregate score of 11-2. Likewise, Valentim’s men have failed to muster a single away win over the past 11 months.

Bet: Coritiba 1/2 to beat Ituano in Friday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ Pribet
