Competition: Serie B

Market: CRB win

Odds: 13/10 @ BetUS

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways in the early hours of Wednesday, CRB will welcome Atletico GO to the Rei Pele.

Starting with the hosts, eventually slumping to what was a routine 2-0 loss away at runaway leaders Sport Recife last weekend, CRB find themselves in the midst of an extended rut over the past few weeks. Despite claiming a gritty 1-0 win against Ponte Preta earlier in the month, the Galo have lost each of their other three Serie B appearances and they almost sit in second-tier limbo. However, still hoping to make up some ground in the top-half chase, Umberto Louzer’s men should be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including a 2-1 victory against Londrina back on July 1st, the Reds have won each of their previous three straight showdowns at the Rei Pele by an aggregate score of 5-1. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, CRB have collected 12 points from just their last five Serie B contests in front of their own supporters – a run that stems all the way back to May 27th.

As for the visitors, while Atletico GO might have made a real statement earlier in the month as they claimed a 3-1 romp against Sport Recife, the Dragons have largely failed to build on that display. Last seen missing out on what they had billed as a golden chance as they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 draw at home against Sampaio Correa, the Goias-based outfit have claimed just a single win from their last seven Serie B appearances – a run that stems back to June 23rd. Facing what could be a tough challenge here, a huge part of Atletico’s issues this season has come down to their struggles on the road. Including a 1-0 defeat against Guarani last week, the midweek guests have mustered only one win on their travels since the start of March. Hit with a 2-1 defeat when they last travelled to the Rei Pele back in 2019, we are expecting a similar outcome here.
