Competition: Brazil Serie A

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 8/13 @ BetUS

Two sides who currently find themselves separated by just their goal difference, Cruzeiro will welcome Vasco to the Mineirao on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, only making their Serie A return this season, it is no secret that the Foxes simply have their sights set on keeping hold of their top-tier status. Last seen over the weekend drawing a line on their recent blip as they secured a 1-0 victory away at Fortaleza, the Minas Gerais-based outfit will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. However, losing each of their other three Serie A appearances since opening November, the Blues will now be hoping to find some much-needed stability on home soil. Gaining a reputation for their continued issues at the Mineirao, it should be highlighted that Wednesday’s hosts have remarkably recorded just a single victory from their previous nine straight showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to a 1-0 victory against Sao Paulo on June 26th. It’s also worth highlighting, the midweek hosts have seen 13 of their previous 15 showdowns on home soil finish with under 2.5 goals.

As for the visitors, while Vasco might still be looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap, Ramon Diaz’s side are in the midst of an extended purple patch. Skyrocketing their way out of the drop zone, the Rio de Janeiro-based outfit have won each of their last three straight Serie A showdowns. Opening November with an eye-catching 2-0 victory away at Cuiaba, the Blacks are enjoying their most successful spell since the middle of September. Shipping just a single strike on their three-match winning run, it appears that the mood in Cruzeiro’s camp appears to be at a red-hot high. Although Vasco might be smelling a potential opportunity late on Wednesday night, they should be worried by their recent issues against the midweek hosts. Suffering a 1-0 loss when they welcomed Cruzeiro to town back on July 8th, we are expecting chances to come at a premium here.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Cruzeiro vs Vasco 8/13 for Wednesday’s Brazil Serie B battle @ BetUS
