Bitesize Prediction: Crystal Palace vs Norwich City – 28/12/21

Competition: Premier League

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Desperate to make a return to winning ways in midweek, Crystal Palace will welcome Norwich to Selhurst Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, blown away on Boxing Day and hit with a 3-0 drumming away at Tottenham, Crystal Palace really do have the feel of a side seeking some stability. With Patrick Vieira missing from their dugout on Sunday afternoon after returning a positive COVID-19 test, the one-time Arsenal icon has seen his side win just one of their previous seven Premier League outings. Still battling it out in the bottom-half of the table, it appears Palace’s 3-1 win against Everton could have just been a minor boost. Last seen at Selhurst Park playing out a 2-2 draw against Southampton, the Eagles have also shown some extended issues at the back. Including an action-packed 3-3 draw against Burnley last month, Tuesday’s hosts have failed to record a single clean sheet from any of their previous seven contests.

As for the visitors, while Norwich might have started life under Dean Smith with a 2-1 win against Southampton last month, the Yellows have drastically failed to keep up that momentum. Tipped as a standout pick to be hit with an immediate Championship return this season, the former Aston Villa boss has seen his side lose their last four Premier League contests on the spin. Putting in a nightmare display on Boxing Day and hit with a 5-0 drumming against Arsenal at Carrow Road, Norwich have also shown their own continued issues at the back. Shipping 39 top-flight goals since opening the 2021/22 campaign, it should also be noted that four of the last five meetings between Tuesday’s opponents have finished with over 1.5 goals. Given their recent problems defensively, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Crystal Palace vs Norwich City 4/11 for Tuesday’s Premier League contest @ 888sport
