Competition: MLS
Market: Nashville double chance
Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport
Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways late on Saturday night, Nashville will make the trip to Audi Field when they meet DC United.
Starting with the hosts, last seen marking their return from June’s international break with another downbeat display, DC United find themselves in the midst of an extended rut. Eventually getting hit with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Chicago last weekend, interim boss Chad Ashton has really struggled to fill the void since taking charge. Heading into their extended break with a thumping 4-1 loss against New York on May 28th, the Washington-based outfit are now enduring a six-match winless run. With their hugely worrying run of form stemming over the past five weeks, DC have also shown some recent problems on home soil, On a run that is highlighted by another thumping defeat against the Red Bulls last month, it should be highlighted that Ashton’s interim boss has managed to collect just a single point from their last three MLS outings Audi Field.
As for the visitors, suffering what was a shock 2-1 loss at home against Sporting Kansas City last weekend, there is no doubt that Nashville will be seeking an immediate response here. However, while the Yellows might have seen their five-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last time out, Head Coach Gary Smith has still seen his side impress many across America this season. Knowing that they’re still firmly sat in pole position to book another Final Series spot this year, Nashville should be smelling a real chance on Saturday night. Likewise, it’s also worth highlighting that the Tennessee-based outfit hold a rather rampant record against DC. Unbeaten in all four of their meetings against this weekend’s hosts, a run highlighted by a thumping 5-2 win last season, an away double chance can be found at attractive odds here.
