Competition: League One
Market: Rotherham to score in both halves
Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves really battling it out at opposite ends of the League One table, Rotherham will make the trip to Doncaster on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to losing ways over the weekend, it appears that Doncaster are freefalling their way down to League Two this season. In the midst of what has become a nightmare campaign in Yorkshire, Gary McSheffrey’s open the midweek fixtures sat rock-bottom of the table and 10 points adrift of safety. Last seen a few days ago getting hit with a deserved 3-1 defeat against Plymouth on home soil, the Reds have now remarkably lost 11 of their last 13 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to November 20th. Continuing to gain a reputation for their woeful displays at the back, Doncaster will be more than aware they face a stern test here. It should also be noted, McSheffrey’s downbeat squad have lost each of their last four contests at the Eco-Power Stadium, a run highlighted by a 3-0 drumming against Southend.
As for the visitors, while Doncaster might find themselves in the midst of a League One nightmare, it looks like Rotherham are storming their way to a Championship return this year. Making the trip to Yorkshire in midweek holding a one-point buffer over the chasing pack, Paul Warne’s men were last seen over the weekend picking up a deserved 2-0 win away at Crewe. In fact, winning each of their last three matchups across all formats, the mood around the New York Stadium should be at a red-hot high. Looking to lay down another marker in midweek, there is no doubt that Rotherham will also be boosted by their rampant record against the relegation strugglers. Landing a stunning 6-0 romp when the two sides faced off last year, they have won each of their last three meetings against Doncaster by an aggregate score of 11-2.
